A phrase made famous by a vintage programme from the notorious Parisian cabaret, Folies Bergère, a popular part of the Paris social scene from the 1890s - 1920s. Their extravagant shows featured larger than life costumes, breathtaking sets and sometimes nudity, all attracting huge crowds of adoring spectators. Et Vive La Folie! pays hommage to this Paris institution, but also the delightful "madness" of beauty, theatre, music and indeed life. All life is stage after all, and we are all merely players.
